All of the nail polishes that I own have either been on sale or gifted to me, I have never paid full price for a nail polish. As someone who has a lot of nail polishes, I really think some are over priced, so if you can get a hand on them whilst they're on sale, do it!
These are most of the base colours I own |
Top: polish toppers | Centre: Metallics | Bottom: Base and top polishes |
I also have other accessories, such as:
- nail filer
- brushes
- cuticle pushers
- nail art pens
- transfer solution
- nail foils/stickers
- velvet
- dotting tool
TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR NAIL POLISH:
1. Have a bottle of nail polish thinner
If your nail polish starts to develop a thick and sticky consistency, add a few drops of nail polish thinner. This will give you a few more uses out of it! DON'T USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER.
2. Storage
Always store your nail polish in a cool, dark place - somewhere that is directly out of sunlight. This will help you extend the life of your nail polishes. If you only have a small collection of nail polishes, try putting them in the fridge.
3. Maintenance
Clean the rim of your nail polish bottles with nail polish remover, this will make opening the bottle way easier for you in the distant future.
When painting your nails:
- Make sure your nails are clean and dry for better application
- Apply around 3 thin coats, rather than 2 thick ones - Your nails will dry in a much shorter time period
- After application, run your nails under cold water - a trick to help dry your nails faster
- Always use base coat to protect your natural nail
- try to use non-acetone nail polish removers - they are less drying on your nails
