My favourite skin care products for 2013...
Another post to add to my "favourites" range is my favourite skin care! I've always been taught that skin care is super important. These products have been amazing for my skin, even saving my red and irritated skin! So here are my favourite skin care products for 2013!
My favourite polishes for 2013...
If you know me, you'd know that I have quite a vast collection of nail polish - I might do a post on it one day cause apparently I have a lot. But anyways, I picked out a few of my favourite nail polishes out of all the ones I have added to my collection this year, and here they are!
Moving on to more bold colours. starting from left to right, I have the shade "Chatroom Rendezvous" by China Glaze, "Avalanche" by China Glaze, "Out of the Blue" by Covergirl, "Blue Tiger" by Australis and "Exposure" by Essie.
I personally think Revlon make great nail polishes. They can be price-y but when you find them on sale, grab one! (I got all my Revlon nail polishes on sale haha). I love this shade as well, its a soft pink-purple colour which looks adorable on.
Starting off with top coat!
I personally think top and base coats are very important when it comes to protecting your natural nail and/or the colour/design on your nails. My favourite top coat has got to be the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat. It dries super fast which is great for people who can't be bothered waiting for nail polish to dry.
The China Glaze ones are both the most recent ones, and I love them! I'm currently wearing "Chatroom Rendezvous" on my toe nails. It's a lovely deep red. "Avalanche" is an amazing holographic/futuristic nail polish that has a tint of purple in it.
"Out of the Blue" by Covergirl is a great colour for spring or autumn/fall - it's not too dark but not too bright either, and "Blue Tiger" by Australis is great for autumn or winter as it's more of a deep blue shade.
"Exposure" by Essie is great for summer or spring, or when you want to add a bright pop of colour to your outfit - it'll definitely catch people's attention! :)
All of these polishes are great and easy to apply. I especially love China Glaze and Essie.
Next we have more pastel colours. I love wearing pastels around spring. So again from left to right I have: "Lilac Pastelle" from Revlon, "Absolutely Shore" by Essie, "To Buy Or Not To Buy" from Essie, and "Riviera Blue" by Mimco.
I personally think Revlon make great nail polishes. They can be price-y but when you find them on sale, grab one! (I got all my Revlon nail polishes on sale haha). I love this shade as well, its a soft pink-purple colour which looks adorable on.
I also love Essie nail polishes, although they can be too thin for some people, I don't really mind it. Essie can also be pretty expensive, so when they're on sale I definitely recommend trying one out. The two shades I have are also great on your nails. "Absolutely Shore" is a faint pastel green which is easy to pair with any outfit, and "To Buy Or Not To Buy" is a pastel purple (more purple than Revlon's Lilac Pastelle). For Essie polishes, I recommend putting on around 3 coats cause they can be quite thin.
And lastly Mimco's "Riviera Blue." I didn't even know Mimco sold polishes until I was gifted one this year. I loveeeee love love this shade! It's like a dull pastel blue, something I'd wear in autumn and possibly spring. This polish also lasts pretty long
I hope this post wasn't too long for you (I'm sorry if it was haha) and I'll see you lovelies in my next post!

Christmas festivities
Merry Christmas everyone! I just wanted to make a quick little post wishing everyone a lovely holiday!Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, but unfortunately it's raining, like it did last year - oh well!
It's a really family fun, heartwarming movie, check it out if you have time!
Apparently Rupunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled have a little camo in one of the scenes, I'm not sure if this is true, someone let me know :)
The rest of my day was just full of presents and Krispy Kreme donuts, omg so gooood
Anyways, I'm sorry for such a random post, I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday. I hope everyone is having a fun and safe Christmas/holiday with their families. I'll see you guys in my next post! :)
To save ourselves from boredom, my family decided to go to the movies to see the Disney film 'Frozen' (don't judge me Disney is awesome - for all ages :P) I honestly liked this movie! The animation was beautifully stunning, the songs were great and there was some comedy. The movie revolves around two sisters, Anna and Elsa, and even though Anna was the main protagonist, I was rooting for Elsa the whole time, I wished they showed more of Elsa. I don't know why but maybe I relate to her more as a big sister, and her need to protect her younger sister - those feels
Here's the trailer :)

Ying and Yang
The ying and yang symbol has become one of the archetypal representation of balance and natural dualities. Recently I've just left my nails bare and natural, but last night I thought I'd play around with the ying and yang symbol and paint them on my nails.
So I decided to make a step-by-step tutorial for you!

Food Adventures: Kingston & Co
Today after a very quick and successful shopping trip for some more christmas presents, I took my sister out to lunch at Kingston & Co!
Kingston & Co is a great cafe/resturant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a range of food, such as burgers, poached eggs, chicken wings, coffees and smoothies, and various desserts It's adorably decorated with ferns on the walls, checked floors and hanging light bulbs.
My sister and I both ordered a burger each, I got the chicken burger which had avocado and coleslaw, and my sister got the angus beef burger that had beetroot relish and bacon (plus, all their burgers are served with fries!). They were superrrr delicious and well presented. I also got an iced mocha, which was also soooo good, it had ice cream in it! The prices were also pretty good for the serving sizes.
The service there was also great, they were all super friendly :)
I definitely will go back, maybe to try out their breakfast menu. I hope everyone has a lovely day, and I hope everyone has their christmas shopping done! see you in my next post

Blemishes Nightmare!
There are so many different products available in the market to get rid of pimples and other nasty blemishes. Like any other person I have pimples and get them every now and then, but my blackheads on my nose are the most stubborn things ever! So I've been on the hunt for some pore strips that will do the trick.
So two products I picked up last time I went to the pharmacy were Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success Spot Minimising Patches and Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
Lets start with the Spot Minimising Patches from Formula 10.0.6
In the box you receive 4 sachets that have a sheet of 21 oval shaped, opaque patches.
These patches did absolutely nothing for me. It does say to use them as many times as needed, but considering it's called "Overnight Success" I would have liked it if the patches at least decreased the size of my pimples whilst I was asleep. I thought these would have at least done something since it said that it has tea tree extract and grape seed in them. Although this is a very creative idea that I would have lovedddddd to work, I definitely do not recommend this product. I say, just stick to good old pimple creams or actual tea tree oil.
Now for the pore strips from Biore
In the box you get 6 sachets that each have a pore strip in them. I find these pore strips quite average. When I looked at the pore strip it looked like it did remove quite a lot of blackheads from my nose, but when I looked in the mirror it was like the pore strip did nothing. I'm not sure if my blackheads are just extremely stubborn, but I'm going to continue hunting down some good pore strips. I recommend these if you don't have many blackheads, but other than that, it just looked like they had no effect.
Overall, these two products didn't really do anything for me, especially those patches!
Anyways, I hope you guys have a wonderful day and I'll see you beautiful people in my next post! take care!

Skin Food
I'm really big on skin care and I personally loveeee to pamper myself - who doesn't? :)
A kinda recent skin care product I bought was Skin Food's Rice Mask. This purchase was a pretty random and impulse buy, but I don't regret it cause it actually left my face feeling nice and soft!
Skin Food is a korean brand, so I'm not sure how big it is here in Australia or other parts of the world, but hopefully you guys can find it online. I bought it at Cosmo Cosmetics in Australia.
There are tiny little grains in the mask, and the instructions on the tub tell you to apply it on to your cleansed, dry face. Then you massage your face for 10-15 minutes. I knew for sure I wasn't going to be able to massage my face for 15 minutes haha, so I think I only got up to about 7-10 minutes before I washed it off with lukewarm water.
The mask has a nice scent to it, nothing too potent or overbearing, to me it smells like body lotion - like Sorbolene or something hahaha. The packaging is also really nice and simple, but doesn't really stand out.
Overall I think I rate this mask around 4-4.5/5, it's a good face mask/face exfoliator, so I definitely recommend it!

Makeup for Formal!
In my previous post I mentioned that it was my sister's formal recently and I had the honour of doing her makeup! (so much pressure but I hope I did ok!) So I thought I'd just share with you guys what I did and what products I used to do her make up :)

Our Hair Studio
For my sister's formal (sort of like prom) she asked me to recommend her a hair dresser to get her hair done, and I recommended her the hair salon Our Hair Studio - they did my hair for my senior formal and they were great!
It is located in Banksmeadow/Botany in a nice quiet area near some cafes and other stores. The salon itself is beautifully decorated, with large framed mirrors up on the walls and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Everyone there is super friendly and the customer service is great - I should also mention that they're excellent at styling hair - all you need to do is describe to them what you want, or provide them with a picture :)
Here's a sneak peak of my sister's hair :)
I personally love it! she went for curls in a low bun, inspired by Lauren Conrad and Miley Cyrus (before her Wrecking Ball days)
Anyways, I hope everyone is having a lovely day, I'll see you beautiful people in my next post!

I Love...
Just yesterday my sister and I received some body-butter by I Love...Cosmetics, and it smells absolutely AMAZINGGGG. I cannot get over how good this body-butter smells!
We got the mango and papaya one and I seriously love it. It smells like mangos! and I love the smell of mangos (especially the Victoria Secret Fragrance Mist in Mango Temptation - omg I wish I could get my hands on a bottle right now)
But anyways! back to the body-butter. Although it says mango and papaya, I find that the mango scent is much strong (but I obviously don't really mind hahaha) It also smells really tropical, perfect for summer!
Besides from the smell though, the body-butter is a semi-thick consistency, and when you apply it on the scent lingers on you for a little while. The body-butter also makes your skin soft like any body-butter should, it doesn't leave any shine or oils on your body, and I didn't have to use that much of the product.
I also don't have any problems with the packaging, however it can get messy as the product can get on the rims of the tub and the lid. It comes in a large round tub, with a bright orange sticker on top of the lid.
Overall I love this product, and I recommend it! Although its the smell that really sells it for me.
I hope you guys are having a lovely day today! take care of your skin and keep it nourished! see you in my next post :)

The Intouchables
The Intouchables is a movie I recently watched, and it is an amazing movie, one of my favourites this year! Although it may not be THE BEST movie ever, I still believe it's worth a watch. Its a comedy-drama about a bromance between a quadriplegic and his new caretaker - I should also mention that it's a French movie so subtitles are required if you don't understand French
The friendship the two main characters form is hilarious, I laughed throughout a majority of the movie, both characters are very charismatic and charming. Also, the soundtrack in the movie is absolutely beautiful. The movie is also based on a true story!
Here's the trailer for you guys, I do hope you give this movie a go!
Like I said before, I absolutely adore this movie, it'll have you engulfed within the storyline from the moment the movie begins.
I hope everyone has a lovely night (or morning depending on where you are) I'm just going to sit here and enjoy a nice hot of green tea whilst I hunt down another movie to watch! see you guys in my next post!

War is over
A recent exhibition I went to was the Yoko Ono exhibition called "War is Over! (if you want it)." This exhibition without a doubt was one of THE best exhibitions I have ever been to. I highly recommend you to go check it out at the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) even if you don't understand art, because her exhibition was an amazing experience, I've never been so engulfed within an exhibition before.
Here are just some of the pieces from her exhibition:
The phone (RH photo) is a pretty well known peace, it was in a glass maze that had dead ends, and was a little confusing to go through, but I made it first to the phone, which on the glass podium had "Pick up the phone when it rings, you'll know it's me" (or something along those lines) I really wanted it to ring!
She had many participatory artworks, like these two! The first one on the top got us to write on a piece of paper where we wanted to go and then to place it anywhere in any of the suitcases.
The one of the bottom had two whole walls full of different maps of countries and the world. There was a bowl of stamps that had "imagine peace" on them in different languages. You had to pick any stamp, pick an ink pad and then place the stamp on your favourite place in the world.
This artwork was called "Helmets - pieces of sky" and was another participatory artwork. You were allowed to take a puzzle piece. All the puzzle pieces were of the sky.
This one was one of my favourites, and one of the most touching ones. It was called "My Mommy is Beautiful." What you had to do was, on a piece of paper, write a message to your mum and stick it up on the wall. I saw so many sweet messages to mothers, showing appreciation and love.
This was another one of my favourites. It was a line of bottles that had water in them, and on each bottle she'd stuck a name of a well known person eg. Albert Einstein, Johnny Cash.
The artwork was called "Water talk" and as the concept she'd written:
"You are water
I'm water
we're all water in different containers
that's why it is so easy to meet
someday we'll evaporate together
but even after the water's gone
we'll probably point out to the containers
and say, "that's me there, that one"
we're container minders"
Yoko Ono's exhibition is one that I will never forget. I loved Yoko Ono before this, but this exhibition has made me love her even more - she seems like such a sweet and caring person. You guys should definitely check it out!
I'm sorry if this post is really long, but I hope you're having a lovely day today, take care!

OOTD: Art Day
Since I went somewhere interesting today, I decided to do an OOTD post for you guys!
Hat: Sportsgirl; Sunglasses: Urban Attitude; Rings: Colette Accessories (left), Tree of Life (right) |
Jeans: Sportsgirl; Ankle boots: Rubi Shoes |
Lace back top: Myer; Necklace: Sportsgirl; Brown messenger bag: Kmart - sorry, I forgot to take a photo of my bag |
Today was predicted to be really hot (28 degrees celsius) but I decided to wear jeans anyways - which I instantly regretted as soon as I left my home. BUT it did turn really windy, so I didn't regret it as much. I decided to wear my floppy hat with my outfit because I thought it kinda tied it all together - and its also my favourite hat. I love my white top that I wore, I think the lace back adds a cheeky element to it.
Anyways, do you guys have a favourite hat? let me know! I hope you guys had an interesting day today, see you in my next post!

left photo: I forgot to take photos of the artworks themselves, so here are some postcards - they don'y really do the artworks justice |

OOTD: A day in Pyrmont
Black sneakers Laura Jones backpack |
Necklace: Tree of Life; Rings: colette accessories; Black skinny jeans: Ziggy Butt shot haha |
Evil Twin denim jacket |
Heat Wave sunglasses:Sportsgirl; white tee: agent ninetynine |
Yesterday I went to Pyrmont to celebrate my friend's birthday! Pyrmont is such a lovely area, and yesterday the weather was pretty good. The park was by the ocean and had a lovely view of both the Anzac bridge and the Harbour bridge. Anyways, I thought I should share with you my outfit for that day!
The weather was predicted to be around 22 degrees celsius, so I thought it was going to be cold - AND I had to consider the fact that I get cold really easily, but the weather wasn't that bad and at some points it was quite sunny, so the sunglasses came in handy.
Since the party was at a park, I decided to wear sneakers for comfort and a backpack for practicality reasons. My chosen accessories and sunglasses were just to add some interesting elements to my outfit
Hope everyone had a lovely day, see you in my next post!
