Ying and Yang

The ying and yang symbol has become one of the archetypal representation of balance and natural dualities. Recently I've just left my nails bare and natural, but last night I thought I'd play around with the ying and yang symbol and paint them on my nails.

So I decided to make a step-by-step tutorial for you!

1. Use base coat to protect your natural nails from staining
2. Paint on white nail polish, here I'm using "White Out" by China Glaze. Paint as many layers as possible to get a nice solid white.
3. Using a striper brush, dip it in some black nail polish and paint one straight line across your nail. Repeat on the rest of your nails - Be creative with this step! you can go diagonal, straight down the middle, its up to you :)

4. paint one side of the stripe black, leaving the other one white

5. Use a dotting tool and put one white dot on the black half, and a black dot on the white half
6. Wait until your nails are completely dry and paint over them with a clear top coat. I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat. And you're done! :)

Here are the products I used:

I'm so sorry for the terrible terrible lighting, I did this at night

I hope you guys like my take on ying and yang. If you want more nail art my very good friend TheSleee has an awesome nail art blog so be sure to check it out. I hope everyone is enjoying their day today, and I'll see you lovelies in my next post! take care!
